Day flight to Narita airport and on arrival transfer to the 5 star Imperial Hotel Tokyo

Day 2 TOKYO Wed 04 April
Morning sightseeing tour of Tokyo by chartered coach. Visit Tokyo Tower and Asakusa
temple and stroll down the colourful Nakamise shopping street. Visit Akihabara and Ueno.
Lunch at an Iron Chef restaurant. Remainder of the day is free. Welcome cocktail with light
dinner at a private lounge at the hotel overlooking the Imperial Palace at sunset.

Day 3 TOKYO - TSUMAGO - NAGOYA Thu 05 April
Travel to Magome & Tsumago villages in the Kiso valley, where cars are banned and signs
of modernity such as power lines are hidden to maintain the old style ambiance. After
strolling along the old streets and soaking up the atmosphere, travel to Nagoya.

4 NAGOYA - TAKAYAMA - SHIRAKAWAGO -
KANAZAWA Fri 06 April
This morning, travel to Takayama, whose isolation has allowed Edo period streets, lined
with tiny shops, museums and eating places, to survive to this day. Travel on to Shirakawago,
a small world heritage listed village, nestled in the mountains beside a pristine mountain river. After strolling around this fascinating village, visit, travel to Kanazawa.

Day 5 KANAZAWA Sat 07 April
Sightseeing tour of Kanazawa includes the old district of Higashiyama; a Geisha district;
Kutani pottery workshops where you can see a demonstration by a master potter; the former samurai residential area and the Kenrokuen garden which is one of Japan’s most famous gardens. Afternoon experience a proper tea ceremony at a private garden. B L _

Day 6 KANAZAWA - KYOTO Sun 08 April
Morning travel to Kyoto. Upon arrival at Kyoto transfer to your hotel. After lunch join your
tour leader on a leisurely stroll along Nishiki arcade, a narrow street lined with food shops
and stalls providing traditional ingredients to the restaurateurs in Kyoto. Visit a traditional
Japanese paper emporium and explore the beautiful Washi (traditional Japanese paper)
stationery, decorations and other artefacts. Late afternoon return to hotel. Special dinner at traditional Japanese Restaurant, accompanied by Geisha. Enjoy chatting with Geisha and a special traditional dance performance. After dinner, stroll to the Gion Geisha district, familiar to many travellers from movies such as "Memoirs of a Geisha”.

Day 7 KYOTO
Mon 09 April
After a relaxing breakfast, sightseeing tour of Kyoto visiting the Golden Pavilion, Nijo Castle. Return to Hotel for Wagyu Teppanyaki lunch. Afternoon free. Dinner at a local
gourmet restaurant. Remainder of day is free. Enjoy afternoon tea at hotel at your leisure.

8 KYOTO Tues 10 April
This morning enjoy the philosopher’s walk (Tetsugaku no Michi), a stone path following
the cherry tree lined canal through the northern part of Kyoto’s Higashiyama district.
You will also visit Kiyomizu temple overlooking the city. Part of the fun of visiting Kiyomizu temple is the approach to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of Kyoto’s old atmospheric Higashiyama district.

Day 9 KYOTO - HIROSHIMA - OSAKA
Wed 11 April
Morning, catch a Bullet train to Hiroshima. Visit Miyajima Island, the famous floating
Itsukushima Shrine and world famous Torii gate. Travel then to Hiroshima downtown to
view the Peace Memorial Park and museum. Late afternoon, travel to Osaka. For dinner
experience a famous Osaka Okonomiyaki Pancake and Yakisoba noodle at a local
restaurant in downtown Dotonbori.

Day 10 OSAKA - Mt. FUJI & HAKONE Thu 12 April
Transfer to bullet train station at Osaka. Catch bullet train to Mr. Fuji region. Enjoy a
sightseeing tour, on a chartered bus, of the picturesque Hakone area including a Lake
Ashi cruise and ropeway ride. Check in at the Hyatt Regency Hakone Resort and Spa.
Special cocktail and light dinner at hotel.

Day 11 Mt. FUJI & HAKONE - TOKYO Fri 13 April.
Visit the Hakone Open-air Art Museum, the first such museum in Japan. Exhibits approx.120 works by well-known modern and contemporary sculptors. Lunch at a local
restaurant. Travel back to Tokyo arriving mid afternoon from Mt. Fuji resort. Upon arrival
in Tokyo transfer to the 5 star Imperial Hotel Tokyo and check in for 1 night. Remainder
of the day is free. Your tour coordinator will help you organise your activities. Farewell
dinner at one of the famous Iron Chef restaurants in Ginza.

Depart for Australia
