Welcome aboard a JANESCO Tour of Japan The 9 days Japan Value Tour has been designed for people who wish to discover and experience a taste of Japan in a shorter stay at an affordable price on an escorted tour. Group sizes are relatively small. Experience some new features such as famous cities and picturesque villages. Visit Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Miyajima Island. Walk through the Geisha district of Kyoto which you may recognise from “Memoirs of a Geisha”. Enjoy visiting hidden places seldom seen by visitors to Japan. We are confident that we have created a most interesting and memorable holiday for the budget traveller. This is a great introduction to the sights and culture of Japan.

Day 1 SYDNEY-TOKYO
Day flight to Narita Tokyo Airport. Transfer to Tokyo hotel.
Day 2 TOKYO - KYOTO
Tokyo Morning sightseeing to Asakusa temple and stroll down the colourful Nakamise shopping street, Ueno and Ginza, and visit the electrical goods district of Akihabara. In the afternoon, travel by bullet train to Kyoto the old capital of .Japan, rich in beauty and tradition. Transfer to your hotel. Welcome dinner at hotel.
Day 3 KYOTO
Kyoto full day tour. Morning, visiting Golden Pavilion, Kyoto Heian shrine and Handicraft Centre with English speaking guide. Afternoon sightseeing tour to Kyomizu temple overlooking the city. Part of fun of visiting Kiyomizu temple is the approach to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of Kyoto’s old atmospheric Higashiyama district.

Day 4 KYOTO-HIROSHIMA-MIYAJIMA ISLAND-KYOTO
Early morning, catch a Bullet train to visit Miyajima Island and the famous floating Itsukushima Shrine and world famous Torii gate. Travel then to Hiroshima to view the Peace park (Atomic Bomb Museum). Late afternoon return to Kyoto. Dinner at Hotel.

Day 5 KYOTO-KANAZAWA - KYOTO
Morning, travel to Kanazawa (also known as “Little Kyoto”, famous for its pottery, lacquer ware, Yuzen silks and gold leaf ) by super express train. Visit master potter’s work shop, Samurai residential area, Kenrokuen Park which is one of Japan’s famous gardens, Gold leaf manufacturing work shop and Higashiyama Geisha house district. Return to Kyoto.

Day 6 - KYOTO - TOKYO
Check-out from hotel. Morning sightseeing tour of Kyoto’s south-west Sagano-Arashiyama district, including Adashino nenbutsuji temple, bamboo forest walk-way, small farm houses a pottery and bamboo craft shop, and a taste of the Kyoto countryside. Afternoon, travel on to Shinagawa in Tokyo and transfer to the hotel.

Day 7 - TOKYO
Free at leisure. Perhaps take a Mt. Fuji & Hakone full day optional tour with English speaking guides. Nikko and Kegon atterfall-World Heritage tour, or Kamakura. Your tour coordinator will assist you to choose activity

Day 8 - TOKYO-AUSTRALIA
Free time until 4:30pm leaving for the Narita Airport to catch flight to Australia. Enjoy your last day in Japan with some last minute souvenir hunting or some optional half day activity. Free at leisure for some shopping or perhaps follow your tour guide to visit to
DAY 9 - AUSTRALIA
Morning Arrival. Interstate passengers connecting flight.
