1 SYDNEY/NARITA
Day flight to Narita airport and transfer to Tokyo Hotel. |

Day 2 TOKYO
Morning sightseeing to Asakusa temple including a stroll down
the colourful Nakamise shopping street, Ueno and Ginza. Afternoon,
shopping for some craft materials. Your escort
will guide you to some stores (ex. Nozawaya). Welcome Dinner. |

Day 3 TOKYO
- TSUMAGO - KYOTO
Travel to Tsumago, where cars are banned and signs of modernity
such as power lines are hidden to maintain the old style ambiance.
After strolling along the old streets and soaking up the atmosphere,
travel on to Kyoto by Bullet train. Dinner at hotel.

4 KYOTO
Half day sightseeing tour of Kyoto visiting Kinkakuji (Golden
Pavilion), Heian Shrine. Afternoon, visit Kiyomizu temple overlooking
the city. Part of the fun of visiting Kiyomizu temple is the approach
to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of the enchanting
Higashiyama district. |

Day 5 KYOTO
Full day escorted tour to Northern Kyoto of Ohara, Sanzenin temple
& garden, Fushimi Iinari dedicated to the deity of rice and
sake, and its avenue of vermillion gates (Torii) We will visit a
local shopping full of sights, shops and colours from typical local
Kyoto life. Lunch included. |

Day 6 KYOTO
Morning tour to West Kyoto (Sagano), craft shops, bamboo forest,
quaint shops, temple gardens. Afternoon free. |

Day 7 KYOTO
- HIROSHIMA - MIYAJIMA - KYOTO
Day trip to Hiroshima and Miyajima Island and the famous floating
Itsukushima Shrine and world famous Torii gate. Travel then to Hiroshima
to view the Peace park (Atomic Bomb Museum) Return to hotel. |

8 KYOTO - KANAZAWA
Morning, travelling on to Kanazawa. Transfer to hotel. Afternoon
at leisure.

DAY 9 - KANAZAWA
Half day tour of Kanazawa, visit at traditional potter , chance
to see a master potter at work, visit Kanazawa’s old geisha
district Higashiyama , Gold Leaf craft work shop, Kenrokuen garden,
one of a Japan’s most famous gardens and samurai residential
area. Afternoon free at leisure—Perhaps visit the 21st Century
Art museum. |

DAY 10 - KANAZAWA
- SHIRAKAWAGO - TAKAYAMA
Travel to a Japanese rice paper (Washi) work shop and learn how
this beautiful traditional paper is made. Travel to Shirakawago
Ogimachi, a small world heritage listed village, nestled in the
mountains beside a pristine mountain river. Walk through this centuries
old village with its thatched rooves and restored farmhouses. Late
afternoon, arrive Takayama. |

DAY 11 - TAKAYAMA
- TOKYO
Morning Market. Explore the old town, visit Sashiko shop, Takayama
whose isolation has allowed Edo period streets, lined with tiny
shops, museums and eating places, to survive to this day. Travel
on to Tokyo, enjoying beautiful mountain scenery on the way. |

DAY 12 - TOKYO
Full day Visit the Great Buddha of Kamakura, where the first samurai
government was located at the end of the 12th century, and other
sites. Close to Tokyo, Kamakura offers a glimpse into the roots
of today's Japan.
Farewell Dinner at hotel. |

DAY13 TOKYO
Day at leisure.
Take an optional tour to MT. FUJI & HAKONE. Visit the famous
Mt. Fuji and enjoy picturesque Hakone including the volcanic power
of Devils Valley and a ferry ride on tranquil lake Ashi Your tour
coordinator will assist you to choose activity. |

DAY14 TOKYO
- AUSTRALIA
Enjoy your last day in Japan with some last minute souvenir hunting
or some optional half day activity. Or follow your tour coordinator
to Meiji shrine and fascinating Omotesando promenade along the Harajuku
district where Tokyo’s old & new cultures meet. Late afternoon,
leave for Narita from hotel by coach. Depart for Australia. |
