Tour of Japan. The Spring Explorer Special tour has been designed for
unique exploration of Japan for a first taste of Japan. Enjoy the countryside
and catch the late cherry blossom season. soak up the atmosphere of
rustic villages plus the experience of walking through majestic castles
and beautiful temples. See Japanese handicrafts and local shopping areas
and experience a 350 year old farm village. Stay in comfortable hotels
and travel by bullet train to explore Kyoto, the traditional capital,
and bustling Tokyo. Tour includes strolls through exotic locations,
streets of Geisha houses in Kyoto familiar to many travellers from movies
such as “Memoirs of a Geisha”. Visit many hidden places
which other package tours do not offer.

1 SYDNEY- TOKYO (NARITA)
Day flight to Narita airport and transfer to Hotel in
Tokyo .

Day 2 TOKYO
Morning sightseeing tour of Tokyo by chartered
coach. Visit Tokyo Tower and Asakusa temple and stroll down the
colourful Nakamise shopping street, Ueno and lunch at local restaurant.
Remainder of the day is free. Welcome cocktail with light dinner
at private lounge at the hotel overlooking the Imperial Palace at
sunset..

Day 3 MT. FUJI
& HAKONE
Full day trip to sightseeing tour to Mt. Fuji by chartered deluxe
motor coach and enjoy picturesque Hakone , Lake Ashi cruise and
ropeway . Lunch by Lake Ashi.

4 TOKYO-TSUMAGO-KYOTO
Travel to Tsumago, where cars are banned and signs of modernity
such as power lines are hidden to maintain the old style ambiance.
After strolling along the old streets and soaking up the atmosphere,
travel on to Kyoto by Bullet train. Dinner at local restaurant

Day 5 KYOTO
Full day sightseeing tour of Kyoto visiting the Golden Pavilion,
Heian Shrine. Lunch at hotel. Afternoon, visit Kiyomizu temple overlooking
the city. Part of the fun of visiting Kiyomizu temple is the approach
to the temple along the steep and busy lanes of the atmospheric
Higashiyama district. Special dinner at traditional Japanese Restaurant,
accompanied by geisha. Enjoy chatting and special performance After
dinner,
stroll to Gion Geisha district.

Day 6 MIYAJIMA
- HIROSHIMA
Early morning, catch a Bullet train to visit Miyajima Island and
the famous floating Itsukushima Shrine and world famous Torii gate.
Travel then to Hiroshima to view the Peace park (Atomic Bomb Museum).
Late afternoon return to Kyoto.

Day 7 KYOTO
- KANAZAWA
Morning sightseeing tour of Kyoto’s south-west Sagano Arash
yama district, enjoy bamboo forest walk-way, small farm houses,
a pottery and bamboo craft shop, and a taste of the Kyoto countryside.
Afternoon travel to Kanazawa. After check in at Hotel, visit the
famous 21ST Century art museum or the local bustling Omichi market.

8 KANAZAWA
Half day tour to visit Kanazawa’s old geisha district Higashiyama
, gold leaf craft work shop, Kenrokuen garden, one of Japan’s
most famous gardens and samurai residential area. Afternoon free
at leisure.

Day 9 KANAZAWA—SHIRAKAWAGO—TAKAYAMA
Early morning, travel by chartered motor vehicle to Shirakawago
Ogimachi, a small world heritage listed village, nestled in the
mountains beside a pristine mountain river. Then travel on to Takayama
and view a more than 1,100 year old cherry tree, designated as a
natural monument. Dinner at hotel.

Day 10 TAKAYAMA
- TOKYO
Enjoy Takayama’s famous morning market. Takayama is an old
castle town whose isolation has allowed Edo period streets, lined
with tiny shops and eating places, to survive to this day. Afternoon,
travel on to Tokyo. |

Day 11 TOKYO
Day at leisure. Visit Nikko or perhaps go to Tokyo Disneyland, or
to Ginza and Roppongi for window shopping or to the electrical town
of Akihabara. Your tour coordinator will help organise your activity.
Farewell dinner.

Day 12 TOKYO-AUSTRALIA
Enjoy your last day in Japan with some last minute souvenir hunting
or some optional half day activity. Or follow your tour coordinator
to Meiji shrine and fascinating Omotesando promenade of Harajuku
district where Tokyo’s old & new cultures meet. Late afternoon,
leave for Narita from hotel by coach. Depart for Australia.
